Cut my finger a year ago and it is still numb. Will it ever recover?

I cut the side of my middle finger last year when opening a tin can. It bled a lot for about 20 minutes. As this was late at night, minor injuries was closed and so I didn't get it looked at. It did heal without having stitches though but it has left an obvious scar. It has been numb in the area ever since. During winter, when I was outside, I also found the cold made it painful. The numb sensation is driving me mad. Will it ever recover?

Hi Applepie... really sorry to hear that. My mom had similar issue 2 years ago. A piece of glass went across her finger and made a major cut when she was trying to open a glass jar. She got stitches for that. Till 6 months she had swelling and also numbness for about a year. Now she is absolutely fine. Wish you speedy recovery
