CVST repeated after stopping the Apixaban in six months

My son 21, got his first CVST while he was at the university last year.

After taking Apixaban 2.5mg QD for almost six months, the Neurosurgeon stopped the medicine. Unfortunately, after 3 weeks of stopping the Apixaban, he got another CVST attack last week and he was hospitalized and discharged after 3 days, prescribed to continue Apixaban 2.5mg BID for a long period (even lifelong).

I was told that repeated CVST is not that good.

I just need someone to talk to who has been in a similar situation
