Cymbalta, side effects liver diease

Posted , 2 users are following.

I took cymbalta for 2 days only, first day diarrea & second day extremely tired. I stopped it because on thrid day still extremly tired.

I spoke to my doctor & told her my side effects & also I was VERY CONCERNED ABOUT LIVER DAMAGE! Also I have high blood pressure & she told me start it again & not to worry about the liver & blood pressue.

Should I be worried because #1 side effect is liver damage & also concerned about the blood pressure. Will this med really help my depression & anxitiy? I also have arthritis & have in my spine & neck.

I looked it up  and seems to help with pain management also.

All antidepressants have side effects and 2 days is not time enough to know how Cymbalta works! Personally I could not take it trouble reaction! I would not worry about liver damage!

Hi Wilb, I'm concerned because I never saw COMMON SIDE EFFECT LIVER DAMAGE!!  On all other antidepressants it's not a common side effect. I also heard (not from dr) you have to get a blood test every month or so to check the liver...is this true?

I know when my GP started me on Cymbalta he stated that I would have to be checked frequently! However he did not go into it because he said we would have to see how I reacted to it! Not sure what he meant regarding being checked!

your liver processes the tablets that you take but it wont damage easily unless you are a drinker and it becomes fatty in later life. As to your blood pressure, you can relieve that with relaxation and exercise.  How about swimming to help your joints and anxiety?

Well I started cymbalta friday 8/5 I took it at night because I was very drowsey last time I started it...dr said take before bed. Saturday 8/6 I took my blood pressure several times during the day & it was very high.

I took it again today sunday & it is still high. I took a anxiety pill & it came down some. I plan on calling Dr tomorrow & see if I should discontinue taking. I just wonder if once your system becomes use to it WILL BLOOD PRESSURE go back to normal??
