Hi there - I can respond only from my own experience with both of these medications so here we go. The V and the C are I believe very similar meds. They are both quite powerful and can work well for some people. The Cymbalta I did not like as they gave me quite powerful night sweats- the Venlafaxine worked quite well for me for a couple of years.

I do not think that 2 months is a great deal of time to decide that V is not going to work for you. Switching medications can be quite difficult in itself unless you are feeling worse or are having awful side effects.

Are you getting any other kind of support ? Not sure what your situation is but medication tends to work better if you are receiving some kind of help in areas that may be making matters worse. Hope this helps.

Hi there - are you taking ad/s because of what has been happeningwith your friend?or were there other issues before this. You are very young and problems with friendships can be heartbreaking. I remember my best friend and I had a fight about a horse (would you believe) and we ended up fighting on the stable yard. We did not speak to each other for months and it was awful passing her in the corridor in school.I justn could not understand how it all happened. When you are  feeling low and depressed everything that goes wrong seems so much bigger than it would be at another time. Depression can make us feel highly sensitive to quarreling and any other problems we have out there in the world. The most important thing is that you can talk about these things with someone sensible, which may not be the school counsellor. I do not know your story but accept any help that you can.Whether u take the V or the C i think the most important thing for you is to be able to talk about what is going on for you. Take care jen
