Cyst

I had my annual MRI June 2. It shows a cyst just below the cerebellum. My doc said that we wouldn't worrry about it unless I started showing symptoms. So about a month later, I started showing symptoms- zombie head, balance, When I tried to get ahold of my neurosurgeon to see what they thought, I got a runaround and was basically told that my decompression surgery was all good and it was all decompressed and that I didn't need to come back for anything. Basically Hasta La Vista, Baby!

Well, so I went to see my neurologist today. She said I have a cyst. Ordered up MRI and Cysternogram. She's going to talk to the idiot NeuroSurgeron.

Now why couldn't the NS just handle all of this in the first place? Why are these doctors such jerks?

Well, they are not a  jerk..there are milllions nerve in your brain..even NS (NeuroSurgeon) or Neurologist - not every one is chiari specialist....and if you already decompressed that is really true sometime they have no idea..so you just have to be coopearated with them but be firm..this is your own health...you need to get that cyst out of your head..it does not matter what is it..because cyst should not be there..mostly when you have symptom..you like to have a better quality of life as human being..make sure you are listening to your body..look after your self..but keep moving slowly..but if that hurt then again listen what your body are telling you..GOOD LUCk

Thanks! I am listening to my body, which is why I suspected there was something amiss. These doctors at this Institute are jerks in that they A) don't listen, B) don't return phone calls, C) get real snotty when I try to tell them what's wrong, D) get real huffy if I question them, E) the neurosurgeon who took over my case after my original doctor left, wouldn't even look me in the eye- has NO bedside manner.

Since they did the original decompression surgery, I felt that they needed to assess this cyst, which is probably due to the surgery. I've read that there can be complications from surgery for several years after. They just were like blowing me off. Very depressing.

dont think that way...BE POSITIVE..write them a letter..outline the most important thing for them to undersstand (which include demoralise you - its effecting your quality of life)

My neurologist is handing it all. Saw her on Monday. Then today had a call about doing the MRI and went in and had that done. Which is good cause my head is getting worse.

Well Linleel, good ...!!! at least something moving here, make sure you chase up the result, so its shows that you care and incharge and worry....when you call them..let them understand how terrible you feel...but you take it easy..listen to your body..be kind to yourself..for once..stop thinking about others..think for yourself..sometime we need A ME time and to be selfish for their benefit as well..so GOOD LUCK

My husband is making fun of how I walk. I have lost balance and wobble like a drunken person. If my neurologist finds I have a cyst interfering with CSF flow, I'm suing my neurosurgeons. They had this information and did NOTHING! I could have had treatment sooner. My daughter is getting married in a month and I would just like to be alert and able to walk down the aisle and do what people do at weddings. Feeling very depressed!!
