Cyst in womb

Posted , 7 users are following.

Hi can anyone help please . I went 9 days ago for a ultrasound after suffering pelvic pain. Went to see gp 5 days later. Was told had a large cystical mass in womb. Was told I would be referred as a potential cancer. Following day received a letter for gynaecologist. Bloods were taken for tumour markers in my body. Am seeing a gynaecologist in 5 days. Is this normal procedure for women with a large cyst as its all happening so fast. am I right to be worrying myself stupid that I've got cancer. My cyst is 12cm x 12cm x 8.5cm. I'm soo worried. I'm 37 years old.

Hi everyone. Firstly I would like to say thank you very much for all your replys. They have really helped me over the last week or so. Made me less panicky. Quick update for you all . Have been to see doc today. No immediate cause for concern as bloods have came back ok which is great too hear . But have to have a ct scan for a more in depth look. The gynaecologist said I will have to have an operation due to the size of it as does not want to risk a rupture or twisting of the cyst.. he will take the one ovary out and my tube as it's attached to that , but my next dilemma is of personal decision as to Wether or not I decide for my gynaeocologist to take out the other ovary at the same time. This being I would go into menopause straight away which is a big decision. The majority of me wants to do that to reduce my risks of the nasty big C happening down there but I also know that early menopause is not good but also inevitable in a good few years. I was sterelised 6 years ago as I have 2 children and was adamant I didn't want any more and that decision hasn't changed at all. The doctor just said that having both ovarys taken is a big decision incase I ever changed my mind and decided to reverse my sterelisation. I also know that ehen thry open me up they may have to do more that i sign up for. Well I will have a couple of weeks to decide what I want to do . Will get my thinking cap on 😂😂. Thanks again everyone xxxxx

Hi all. First time on here and going through what you all are going or have been through. Dam scared I have to say! A lot of you seem to be saying your CA125 was normal and all was well, but mine is elevated. Not by much = 44. But abdo USS shows mass of 6cm in left ovary and right ovary not seen on USS. Scan was last Sat, CT scan tomorrow and Gynaecology apt Tues. Not heavy pain at the moment and periods frequent but normal in flow.

Reading this has helped after all the research and crying I've done worrying this week. I've not told any family or friends. Don't want to worry people and to be honest I can't talk about it. I'd break down.

Also broke up with A bullying partner two weeks ago. Feel quite alone.

Would be nice to have someone say they also had an elevated CA125 as well as a USS mass and all was OK..............

      Hi Lorraine,

My CA125 level was normal. However from everything I've read it's not reliable and can give off false positives. Elevation can be caused by a few things including endometriosis, menstruation, cysts etc. Try not let that result worry you too much, it confirms nothing x
