Cyst on Left ovary

I'm 47 and I've been having problems for years. everything from heavy periods, uterine fibroids ,a 2cm cyst on my left ovary , and cramps all the time !! 3 years ago I had the Novasure Ablation , well things were good for 2 years. then all hell broke loose, the periods came back heavier and longer then ever and the pain ! I cramp like I'm on my period ALL the time, my Gyn. just keeps telling me let try this, lets try that. well that cyst shouldn't be causing you any pain. you need a Colonoscopy, if that comes back ok then we'll talk about a hysterectomy. well my colonoscopy came back good. but Gyn. put me on Birth control to help. well 2 months later the only thing thats changed is my periods, ( they've stoppped ) but I'm in more pain than I've ever been in, some days I don't even get out of bed. I cramp all the time, I feel bloated, and I feel like my stomach is gonna bust, I feel like there's a ton of rocks in it. I go in 2 weeks to a different Gyn. I'm really wishing I could just have a complete Hysterectomy, I want it all taken out so I won't have anymore problems. I just hope my huband doesn't want to leave me afterwards..lol Has anyone else had these problems ? and if so what did you have done ? thanks

Don't be disheartened if you got a good hubby of course he won't leave go to another gyne it does sound like you need a hysterectomy I had heavy bleeding and I was on the menopause I had two just opens which showed nothing and in the end I had a hysterectomy which was the best thing I did as he said if I'd left it it could have got worse I had a very good gyne he was one in a million and had a very good bedside manner just go for your second opinion and tell them you think you want a hysterectomy best of luck and let us know how you get on

    Hi

I had fibroids, enlarged uterus and periods from hell that never ended. It lasted a year, found a gynecologist who took my uterus out and I have never looked back. Hope the new gyno will offer you surgery.

He better lol . It's to where I can't stand it anymore. There's no in between anymore, I hurt ALL the time. Did you keep your ovaries? I'm hoping to have mine taken out, due to the cyst and other post I've read where some women kept theirs but after 2 yrs. had to have them taken out.

I had complete hysterectomy March 16 due to your exact symptoms. I had mri, ct scans, ultrasounds, colonoscopy, EGD, tried birth control, tried Lupron to put me in to drug induced menooause. My pain was so bad that it requires narcotic pain meds. The first three weeks of recovery were a breeze. But then all hell broke loose. I ended up with bladder spasms, urethral spasms, pelvic floor hypertonicity, so so so much pain. On top of it I was in the middle of a brutal instant menopause that was less than pleasant. I had burning in my bottom from nerve damage. Again ended up with an mri. Only this time I pulled some strings as I am a nurse and had my mri read by a radiologist I knew. This turned everything around. The previous tests had missed a condition called pelvis venous congestion syndrome!! Varicosities in my ovarian veins that were so bad it now affected numerous other veins. I saw a specialist. Was started on meds for the nerve pain. My vericosities were coiled and I can't tell u how much better I am. No pain!!' Not an ounce of it!!' The pain with intercourse gone gone gone!' Ask ur dr to specifically test u for it.

Oh ouch, you poor girl. Have they thought to do a laparoscopy to see if you have endometriosis? It can't be found from all the other tests you've had. I tried a mirena which is like a coil, inside womb in my 40's. It gave me a period every 2wks! Put up with it for 5yrs. Had one laparoscopy and burning off of endometriosis - Gynae said it was "little bits everywhere", so he said he burnt off as much as he could but would need it done every two years. I had a big bit on the posterior ligament that holds up uterus. That gave me hellish pain like sciatica but different, and same as for weeks before 9lb 4oz Son was born when I was 30. I didn't go back for more burning off. Then meantime they decided not to do it that way anymore as girls were ending up with adhesions from scar tissue formation. I did end up with adhesions. Now they cut the pieces out. I just kept hanging out for menopause. Had only 2 periods between 50 - 51, then none. Am 57 now & retained all my bits. Did used to get lots of ovarian cysts too. A 4cm one was taken out during the 1st & only laparoscopy. Had anterior prolapse repair Oct. last year. Just remember that plunging immediately post-op into surgically induced menopause can bring you a whole lot of different hellish times. Wonder what stats are for relief of having had uterus and/or ovaries out. I've heard good and bad, so you've got a big decision to make should the next Gynae you see agree to remove some or all of girl bits. Of course you're not going to know what your menopause ride is going to be like until you go there. Sounds like you have raging hormones already which are going to be entirely different if forced into sudden menopause. When I was going through 40's with all the probs of cysts & endo, my Gynae Specialist was Chief Medical Officer for New Zealand, & he said total hysterectomy (didn't like also removing ovaries unless very good reason to) wasn't the be all and end all from the problems lots of us have. Nobody can guarantee smooth passage post-op but only you know in yourself if being plunged into early menopause will be a better situation to what you are in now. In my country you used to pretty much be able to just elect to end periods drama by requesting hysterectomy. Then they changed that to try & manage symptoms through to natural menopause rather than bring on a whole new raft of problems. But it doesn't sound like any Dr. has been able to manage your situation to date. Best of luck with well warranted second opinion anyway and whatever path you decide to choose. You didn't mention ever being told you were highly likely full of endometriosis, unless I read wrong? But pretty sure you need laparoscopy to definitively diagnose that.

Yes Dr said I have Endometrail Hyperplasia ( thicking of the uterus wall ) on top of Fibriods and cyst, and cramps from Hell ! ( Worst I ever had ) but no period. I take about 8 midol a day. my mom had colon and thyriod cancer , her mom had either kidney or ovarain cancer ( not sure which one, she past at 40 in 1969 ) so I just want it all out so I won't have to worry about it anymore.

Endometriosis, not endometrial hyperplasia. That one is the actual lining inside the uterus. But endometriosis is bits of that lining growing outside of uterus, sometimes all over place in abdomen where it shouldn't be. Is a very painful condition. Some just have one bit bit growing on the likes of outside wall of bowel or elsewhere in there, but others can have lots of bits growing everywhere outside of uterus.

Well I went to my new GYN on Tuesday, and after looking over everything I've had done in the past and doing another ultra sound it appears the cyst is larger. so he said If you were my wife, I'd recommend a hysterectomy and take everything out. so Next week on Tuesday it's all gone . and I'll go straight to B*tch mode ..lol
