Cyst on ovaries and numb body

Hey,
I'm currently on holiday in Nicaragua and four days ago I experienced a tingling sensation and numbness starting in my legs up my arms and to my face and neck. I went to local "medical centre" who out me on an Iv drip. Believed it was anxiety. The next day I developed a terrible pain in my stomach. So I went to the capital and to another hospital who took blood etc and also saw a giant cyst- a melon sized cyst according to the surgeon, and it was taken out immediately the next day via key hole surgery. I'm still in recovery but can't sleep as when u do I appear to stop breathing and wake up gasping for air. I am also experiencing numbness paticularly in legs and and buy also head. Please would anyone be able to shine some light on what this is! I'm scared in case it's totally unrelated to the cyst. My Spanish is non existent and it's making communicaton worse and I'm so far away from home too which is scaring me more! Thank you

Hi Kerri,
It's the anaesthetic that hasn't worn off properly yet, gives you the feeling you a aren't breathing properly. Also if you are on morphine or other strong painkillers they can have a similar effect.
Try to relax, and tell the nurses your worries.

Thank you for replying to me!
I'm mostly worried about what was cussing the numbness prior to the operation, what do you think this could be? I also feel like I'm having difficulty opening my mouth now, like I'm losing control over it but this has only started during the night so hopefully is whatever medication the have me on. I'm only two weeks into a two month trip, do you think I should go home as I'll be to sick to travel?

Hi Kerri, sorry I didn't get back to you, my internet connection was off and only came back during the night.
I'm not sure about you flying when you just had surgery, where are you from? The U.K. Or the US.
Are you with friends? You certainly need time to recover and find out what the numbness is, if it's still there.
