Can be period linked as their growth can be cyclical getting larger towards the end of the period, causing worse pain, and then shrinking again

Thank you - I am hoping in the next day or two it settles down.. Today my stomach is making all sorts of noises.. is this normal with a cyst ?

I have found mine gets worse towards end of period too, which I thought was a bit odd. Also the other day a loud strange gurgle noise came from exactly the site of my cyst!

I'm pretty sure I've read on here before that pains in legs is a symptom for some x

OMG thank goodness for this I have been so worried I have had sharp pains in my lower left side pelvis. I have to get up several times in the night for the loo too. I sldo have these terrible gurgling sound! I have been back and forward to drs for urune infections, I have now been giving a scan date for the 12th March. Are these all common symptoms for cysts?

Yes Ashlee they are. Are you having a trans vaginal scan? Only normal ultrasound not the best it can miss cysts!

No it's just an ultrasound, for months they've been telling me it's constipation, my stomach is swollen and this gurgling is so weird. Did you have urinary problems? I am so worried bout these blood tests too as of course I googled them!

Yes when my cyst plays up I urinate more frequently and it seems stronger

So when you have them do they flare up from time to Timw? I think I had similar symptoms in 2011 and it was put down as rumbling appendix. Do cysts show on blood tests?

No they don't show on blood tests. Mine is pretty much there all the time, not so much hurting more like someone is poking me, but then other times it flares up worse feels like bloating, back pain, all sorts!

I wouldn't be too worried, Im only 21 and have been experiecing the worst period pains with long/short periods all mixed. I thought it was normal because both my mum and sister had really bad period pains until i recently went for an internal examination due to bleeding after intercouse, they found an enlarged uterus which i got refered for an ultrasound for and they found a 11cm cyst on my right and 5cm cyst on my left ovary which had my anxiety at an all time high because it was out of nowhere and already suffering with health anxiety i assumed the worst. I had an MRI and it confirmed i have endometriosis and there is no malignancy within the cysts thankfully.

As normal as it is during and after your period to get all them symptoms ( which i also had ) it can be an indication of cysts (which are 90% not serious) chin up and hopefully it gets sorted soon smile

I am on depo injection so don't haven't them, although I d get a dull ache around the lower part of my stomach. Also have had really strong smelling urine too. Hence why they kept thinking it was a uti

Unfortunately ovarian cysts are easy to misdiagnose as something else, ashlee, so you're not alone in still being confused after months of issues. Until they physically see a cyst on a scan, the symptoms really could be caused by all kinds of things. I have already been diagnosed with a (big) cyst now and am waiting to get it removed, but it sometimes causes pain in my lower back or right kidney, sometimes causes indigestion, and sometimes impacts upon my digestive system. Just rest assured that if there's anything big there it should be seen on the ultrasound. And if they've given you blood tests too they are doing all they right things. Keep us posted, but please don't worry. smile xx

Thanks honey like you it effects so much else. My bloods have come back ok thank god, I'm just sick of feeling rough. It's interfering with everything now and really getting me down x

Me too. I'm normally really chirpy but it's making me sad and frustrated. Not being in control, and not knowig when this will end. MEH! Let's try to stay positive while we wait for our next appts though! Mine is on 10th so we will have updates around the same time hopefully.

If your bloods have come back good that is a REALLY good sign. It means that even if you do have a cyst it's very likely benign. Try not to think about it every second of the day. Hard, I know, but try! x x x
