Cystocele has worsened - advice please !

Hi,
I have been being monitored for the prolapse for about 5 years - at the beginning when it was minor i was readily being offered a Laparascopic Mesh procedure ( little was in the public domain about the complications then) but i hesitated and tried Pelvic Floor Physio first - I guess this has helped delay the inevitable along with the introduction of topical Estrogen.
3 weeks ago ( talk about timing - Covid) I felt it had dropped and yep its there - still inside but much more visible. This has coincided with more lower back pain and pulling in the pelvic region also some tingling - nerves ? Contacted Urogyn and am on the list for a consultation when lockdown is lifted. Should i be contacting my GP about this pelvic discomfort or is it typical of the situation worsening ?
Thanks for any advice !

hi, i think if you have already contacted uro- gynae in hospital you will be sent an appoint "in due course" once lock-down eases. Have you considered a ring pessary before opting for surgery? your GP may be able to fit one of these and it may buy you more time while you're waiting to be seen by gynae.
Unfortunately, although causing discomfort, the DR's won't consider prolapse to be a life threatening emergency so won't do anything during lock-down.
I've had problems with prolapse, had surgery following 3 yrs of using a ring pessary until it progressed and needed surgery, unfortunately i had cystocele and rectocele repair privately which failed within months, then had intensive physio for 3 months but then put up with it and suffered for another 2 years before having 2nd surgery on cystocele which was much worse to level 4 by then along with a recommended vaginal hysterectomy on NHS 6 months ago.
Unfortunately, that has resulted in me developing gross scar tissue and adhesions inside my vagina which cause me daily pain, heavy vaginal discharge and inability to resume sexual intercourse due to the adhesions closing down the length of my vagina and it being too painful to penetrate. i feel like they sorted one issue but now got far a worse outcome. I've had MRI scan but then Covid-19 arrived so I'm now in limbo waiting to be seen again to see if they can do anything more to help ease the adhesions problem? This is further complicated by my medical history of past breast cancer so I'm not able to use oestrogen cream. I know this doesn't help you but i hope knowing you are not alone suffering will help a bit. ALSO, to say don't be too hasty in going for operation as it has its own problems and risks.
