Urologist wants to do cystoscopy as he will make 6 times the price of an office visit........Cystoscopy is not the same as a colonoscopy .....and things can happen........ask him if he plans to used a rigid or flex scope......if he says rigid and you are not having a procedure , I would run.....
I would ask what is the cysto going to do for me? You can get the exact size of the prostate from an MRI with no invasive procedure.......Most men's prostate enlarges as they age....thus more nightly trips to john ...Rectal digital exam is usually done to check for a bump or abnormality leading to PC........there are 2 other drugs similar to Flowmax..if you just started on the Flowmax I would continue same for 3 to 6 months.........then assess.......

You would be well advised to have all the tests. They don't hurt and don't take long. If the doctor and the urologist say its necessary then it is. Better safe than sorry. I had the same experience but did have cancer and had to have a radical then six years later RT. Now 23 years later I am still here.

Have you not had a cystoscopy yet? How old are you?You probably need one.Just remember unless you get some relief your stream will not get stronger and you will not pee less.As a matter of fact the reverse is likely to take place.I had a TURP and am glad I did but some will disagree with me about that procedure. Do your homework.

Lew....not always a bad idea to see a new urologist.....make sure you have all your scans and reports associated with the urolift and the report or doctors notes on your cystoscopy
Study the reports and see if you can find urologist that has extensive back ground in your needs.
I am suffering from Hemorrahgic cystitis from over radiation in treating PC with HDR Brachy at UCLA and can not find a doctor with experience in treating same.....but have assembled my notes and records and it does save time.
