I'm following your post, Trevor. I have both as well, so would like to hear from others.

The largest cyst on my kidney went from 6.5 to 8 cms in diameter. The specialist said that he didn't know why I was referred to him. It was my GP who sent me, I didn't ask to go. He did say that there's a lot of room in the abdomen, and a cyst can grow to "quite" a size before it becomes a complication.

I hope you have better luck at getting answers, and more importantly, relief from the pain and improvement in your health.

A relative of mine has a kidney cyst. When hers reached 19cm last year it was drained. It has now refilled and is over 20cm. She is due back at hospital in July where she will either have it re-drained or her kidney removed. At the moment she does not know what will be decided. For pain relief she just takes paracetemol. However she has had all her treatment under her private health insurance.

I have had the same size cyst on my kidney for 5 years and my doctor says there is nothing to worry about.

I take Cipro and Flagel for my diverticulitis flare ups. They are very hard on the stomach to clear the infection. I also take a probiotic when I am on antibiotics. Good luck and watch that you do not get constipated. That encourages the pockets to get infected. Miralax is a good product to use for constipation.
