It sounds like a side effect of your health anxiety and tension as your doctor has suggested. Try relaxation therapy and persevere with painkillers. If they don't help, ask your doctor for something stronger. It sounds like migraines which can affect your eyes. I have had pain in my eyes with headaches. Worrying can trigger headaches, make them worse and prolong them. Try not to worry about anything else since you have had reassurances from your optician and your doctor. Trust and believe your doctor who is the expert.

Your doctor will be able to prescribe you painkillers that suit you. You don't need to worry about being limited in what medications you can take because your doctor can advise you on that. So, it is still worth asking your doctor. I haven't heard of migraine sticks so I don't know how effective they are. In any case, everyone responds differently to medications. Headaches affect everyone differently depending on their severity. Your best bet is suitable painkillers to help relieve the pain. You should be able to find a medication that works and is safe for you.
I would also try relaxation therapy to help with your health anxiety. Controlling anxiety and tension can really help to reduce or get rid of your headaches entirely.Having newly been diagnosed with IBS, can be very stressful especially if your doctor has not given you much information about it.Don't google symptoms because it will make your anxiety worse. Go back to your doctor.

rule things out, get your eyes tested first, then make sure you don't have a nerve trapped, look at a doctor's appointment and make sure there isn't any physical reason your eyes or anything else would be doing this. good luck with sorting it.
