Daily headaches. COPD cause?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I, all. I was wondering. I've been having daily headaches. I get up anywhere between 7-10am I take Trazodone to sleep for insomnia. For the past few months (about 7-8), I've had headaches every single day. They generally begin anywhere from 3-8pm. I'm wondering if this could be because I do have emphysema. When I last saw my Pulmonologist, he told me I'm (or was) using 30% of my lung capacity. So, I wonder is the O2 is lacking in my brain and, if so, can it be the cause of memory problems and the daily headaches. Has anyone else had this/these problem/s? I take Excederin every single day, but that kinda concerns me, considering the newest FDA warnings on NSAIDs. Can anyone help me with this? To understand it, maybe? I'd really appreciate any help uz can give.

Thank you, and I hope ur all feeling well today and every day.

I blithely ignore warnings about NSAIDs - can't function without them. Have you tried Excedrin migraine? There are different proportions/ingredints in the different kinds. If you are worried about the acetaminophen, you could drink a strong coffee, coke or Dr. Pepper.

My ex has lower lung function than you do and he rarely suffers any head pain. That doesn't mean there's no connection for you.

Do you by chance use anything like zantac, nexium, pantaprozole, etc? Most all American heartburn meds invented in the last 25 years have listed side effects of headaches or migraines. I almost completely eliminated my migraines when I changed my diet so I could quit these meds. Now I'm back to occasional sinus or environmental headaches.

I used to get dehydrated and that led to terrible headaches, but that doesn't seem likely for your pattern.

Other than that I don't know. I use trazodone also, but I do so knowing that it is not good for my lungs.

I hope someone or something can help you. Daily headaches or migraines suck.

Headaches can be a sign of low oxygen,  do you have an oxymeter to check your sats?   The other thing to consider is it is possible you have sleep apnoea as this is not uncommon with severe emphysema.   It might be worth asking your doctor about.  x

Check information leaflet that comes with Trazodone med, I believe you will find headaches of the side affects.

COPD doesn't cause Headaches, medications can and lack of sleep, not drinking enough water etc etc.

The questions you ask concerning 02 and memory loss are those you can put to your GP or consultant,  especially as he / she will be fully aware of your medical history and can further check your blood oxygen saturations

Check the information leaflets that come your meds, it may help you to understand
