Daily meds? Opinions on Buspar?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I'm considering moving to a daily medication. Me being me, I dread side effects. I've been told that Buspar has little to no side effects. Has anyone taken and found it to be beneficial? Paxil was another one my Dr was thinking I should try. I was on zoloft for a short time years ago and it made my anxiety attacks so much worse so he took me off of it. I was missing days from work because it was so bad. So I've been afraid to try anything since then. Health anxiety. Travel anxiety. Don't like being alone anxiety. Lol I'm just a big ball of anxiety fun.

I'm prescribed buspar I've taken it once I know that's not going to do anything but I've heard it's good to. I have a really bad anxiety disorder but I'm scared of medication. just like you, I was missing days from work which led me to get released. Last night I was in the hospital because for past 4 days I couldn't feel the right side of my face or body. I thought I was having a stroke. They said I'm the healthiest 26 yr old they have seen in a while. I feel like I'm 96 this Is a sickening disease it's very scary to not be able to feel your body or you know who you are

I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad.  If I try the buspar I'll cirlce back around and let you know how it goes!  Try listening to some meditation music or nature sounds.  It really helps me a lot.  I don't actually meditate, I just turn it on and listen while I'm working or in car by myself.  I really does help.  I also got a few worry stones.  I think that having something to fidget with, along with the music/sounds has been a good thing for me.  Give it a whirl.  Nature sounds is my favorite.

Awesome.  Is it able to be a long term or is it only a short term, do you know?

I dont rememebr how long i was in it to be honest. I wouldsay easy a year. It was so smoothe i dont rememeber but i had to go off to use some other medicine unrelated to it. i wanted to go back on it when i was diagnosed with some issues but my doctor said no. I cant use anything now. Have some eye issues that delete the use of so many meds. Too bad. I do know it takes like four to six weeks to work, its one of those build up drugs. Then its nice if you have GAD its gone, for me anyway. I had ptsd and panic attacks and just found myself anxious a lot, not panicked anxious.Wow im thinking back now it was a really nice time. I say without a doubt use it.

I'm sorry to hear of your eye problems. And that you can't take any meds. Thanks for the info on Buspar. I have a checkup today, I'm going to ask about it. Have a good day!

I took Buspar and it seemed to cause depression. My psychiatrist said it does not cause depression but it does in very rare cases. I am very sensitive to all of the psych meds I have tried ,and I have tried most of them. The worst side effect for me is depression . That I can not abide. I took it for 2 weeks and my depression was really bad.M Dr. took me off of it. Best of luck hope it works for you.
