    Hi Wendy,

I know exactly what you talking about and I feel your pain, i an 51 postmenopausal as well.

I had the same symptoms since June 2017, started off balance feeling, rocking sensation and is like I am in boat 24/7, I got very scary at that time, i have seeing million specialist, I had ECG many times all normal, head MRI, Ear MRI. CT scans, ultrasound name it, blood test ESR all comes back normal.

I have seeing Neuroligist 3 different opinion same with ENT all normal.

I have fullness in one side of the ear, noise and ringing in the ear I cannot hear properly from one ear, I have trouble sleeping, firstly i couldn't go lit and work for months and stop me doing my daily living and affected my mobility very bad up to one day I said to myself , I cannot do that any more and I started walking in the park forcing myself to socialise but it was difficult very difficult until one of the neurologist in London referred me to different neurologist at charing cross he done balance test which lasted 3 hours and they put cold and hot water in your ear and control your eyes in the computer, it diagnosed me with chronic migraine which never been treated and affected my brain so i have PPPD .

Google it and you will know what I am talking about.

so he give medication Candesartan which is for blood pressure and heart but I don't suffer from none aparently is good for migraine and I am doing balance therapy to teach the brain back to normal.

but the medication am taking is now 2 months but I didn't feel better actually make me worst.

I will decreasing the dose until when I stop it in 2 weeks.

I cannot take this medication any more.

please you need to push with your GP Dr until you see a good neurologist

I hope that help you, please let me know.

    sab

hi wendy, have you tried taking mecclizine during your dizzy spells? its over the counter next to the dramamine. try it. can you also ask your dr to see a vestibular PT? its very helpful, especially waiting on the dizzy clinic.

hi moosey doc gave me betahistine to take but bit apprehensive about taking it

why are you apprehensive about a betahistimine? most doctors that prescribe this (from what ive found) have no clue what to do. i doubt a beta will help. a regular nuerologist and ENT- dont know much about this. my advice is to find a dizzy clinic near you. make an appt with an otolaryngologist or nuero-ontologist. neurologist. useless. you most likely will need to take some meds to help. if you can get to the pharmacy, i advise you to get mecclizine (bonine) until you get to the dizzy clinic. go in 10 weeks, if you all of a sudden you are better you cancel. but most of us here were not in 3 months, not without testing, meds, and proper diagnosis.
