Damage to voice after drinking undiluted apple cider vinegar. Can I be fixed?

Hello,

2009 was when I first developed a passion for singing. I started out as a particularly weak singer with no range, but I developed into something pretty good ten years later. I could hit high notes despite being a baritone, and could do a variety of different styles from soul to operatic stuff. I was never a great singer on the level of Pavarotti or somebody, but I could carry a tune pretty well despite my very limited training.

In November of last year, I was recording something and kept struggling with an annoying clicking noise after every word. It was ruining my recording session so I Googled remedies to treat the issue. One article stated that drinking apple cider vinegar could help. Without even reading the details, I got out of my chair, ran to my kitchen and STUPIDLY drank about half a cup of pure, undiluted apple cider vinegar. I could tell immediately it was traumatic on my throat. Even worse, I completed the recording session even with the obvious inflammation.

Nearly one year later, despite a very long vocal rest, my voice has never been the same. If I sing longer than 10-15 seconds, my throat gets very raw and dry -- sort of like a "sandpaper" feeling. Also, my range and volume are nowhere near what they once were. It has devastated me mentally as I had dreams of one day leading a '60s cover band. It also has affected my speaking voice too, to the point where if I talk for long periods of time I get that feeling, although not as severe as when I sing.

I have not seen an ENT since this occurred. I have had voice problems in the past due to overuse and bad form but those dissipated with time. I assumed this would as well, but it hasn't and doesn't appear like it will. My question is, do you think an ENT or voice specialist can fix me? Do you think I've done permanent damage? Is there hope for me at all?

Thank you very much, and all the best. 😃
