Dark Brown Phlegm

For the past 2 mornings, I have coughed up thick dark brown phlegm. I don't have a cough, I just usually spit up phlegm in the morning  and it looks normal but this time is different. I don't have any trouble breathing, and as I write this I feel fine. So whats the deal?

I have included a picture of what my phlegm looks like.

    Have you been to your GP, or tried asking your local Pharmacist?  If you haven't, you could try asking the Pharmacist first - you obviously have a photo.

     Fresh blood is bright red, old blood is brown.  Personally, I would ask a Pharmacist then on his advice, decide whether or not to make an appt with your GP

    Coughing up blood an anyway is alarming. It also can indicate several problems one being a pulmonary embolism. I would call the doctor if it were me.
