Dark red blood/clot in stool

Hello,

I have had IBS-Constipation for a couple years now and have had bright red blood in my stool pretty often. I've gone to the doctor a couple times for it and they always said it was okay and from the constipation.

TMI STORY - I just had a bowel movement and for the first time and saw DARK red blood in the toilet water. Because of it, I couldn't see what color was my stool was but it FELT like it was black. When I wiped, I also had a couple clots on the tissue. 

It's my first time experiencing dark red blood as well as clots. I've googled it and allll the websites say to go to the doctor ASAP if there's dark red clots. Anyone have experience on this and know if this is true and I should go ASAP or if it's okay to wait it out/see if it happens 2-3 more times?

I'm 23, took a few DGL chewables the past few days for my acid reflux, and have started exercising more regularly these days.
