Daughter's first outbreak

Posted , 9 users are following.

My daughter just contracted type 2, diagnosed 3 days ago. She's a mess!  So much pain!    Taking antiviral and has a cream to numb.

How long does the first outbreak last?  When will she start to feel better?

Any guidance much appreciated. Don't know what to expect.

Morally support your daughter during this hard time , this will give her strength ..

Now since this is her first outbreak , it will take on an average of 15 days to heal the ulcers , but by applying cream , she will start feeling better in 3-4 days ..

Good or Bad , each time will pass by , all u have to do is be strong ..

    Oh bless her sad

I’d say my first outbreak the unbearable pain stage lasted about a week after starting the anti virals and then it was another 2 weeks until I felt ‘normal’ again.

A luke warm bath with Epsom salts is the best thing for relief, unfortunately I was in the middle of moving house and had no hot water but subsequent outbreaks I’ve found I have no pain when I’m sat in water. Plus the salts will help dry out the ulcers quicker.

Also I don’t know how old your daughter is and I usually wouldn’t recommend alcohol but I did find that a couple of glasses of wine helped with the pain in the evening and helped me get some sleep.

Happy to answer any questions if you or your daughter have any smile I’ve had it a few years now so think I’ve got to grips with it all now!

Oh also I would recommend she starts taking a daily vitamin like well woman and also daily l-lysine supplements. It can help prevent further outbreaks xx

Herpes has three stages, pain tingling 1st week 2 week blisters pop start healing 3rd week it sheds. anti virals can help it to heal faster, taking something for information can help also like Aleve, a sit bath 10 to 15 mi can help to ease the pain, after the first week she should, first one is always the most pain full, she will get through it there is light at the end of this tunnel tell her.

Sorry to hear about your daughter I’m not sure how long it last but when I had a cut and I thought was herpes because of my friends, it burn so bad when I pee cause it was open wound and it was hot, whenever I used to go to the toilet (which I do everyday anyways) I have a cup and I put salt with warm water and wash myself then I dry myself. It’s important that the place is clean and try. Try aloe Vera it will burn at first but promise it’s soooo good. Got ride of my wound. Good luck xxxx

I’m so sorry! My first outbreak was terrible. Warm baths really helped and sometimes an Advil PM at night to make sleeping easier. I also started applying Hemp Oil (250 mg) liquid formulation from Northstar naturals with the peppermint extract and it immediately helped with my pain. I think I got it on amazon with rushed shipping. I mean honestly it was a game changer for me. Apparently it has antiviral properties and the peppermint was so cooling. I applied it on open sores and bumps. I’m not sure it will help your daughter but I think with herpes it’s a lot about experimenting and finding what works best with your body. I tried oil of oregano as well but that burned for me. Also lysine pills can help a lot in the long game, but I didn’t see immediately results from them.

It will get better, but the biggest thing she needs now is hugs and love because the first outbreak can feel very isolating.

The first outbreak typically lasts for 12- 20 days to heal completely. After the most painful stage that blisters break open, she may feel better. But you can give her some remedies to ease pain and reduce the severity of a herpes infection. Poeple with herpes commonly take acyclovir or valtrex, others have possitive results after applying prosurx. It's very important to keep her mind at ease  and encourage her to avoid stress. Eating more lysine foods is one of the best ways to remove herpes fast.
