Day 10 Update

Well....I am pleased to say that today and today only....I think I have  finally turned the corner. It's 10 days since my op.....I have been sitting here in my recliner for 9 of those ten days. Can't believe it cause it only seems like the op was a few days ago. Pain and discomfort, dozing and pain meds have all made the time pass quickly. BUT today I have had NO pain killers and its 9.30pm here now. I'm still in my sling and will be for 6 weeks in total, I see the surgeon this Thursday for my follow up appointment after surgery. Fingers crossed that I HAVE turned that corner and am well and truly on the road to pain free. Thanks  to each and ever one of you for your support and gentle hugs and I wish you all a speedy recovery and relief in that cruel insidious pain that we all know SO well 😘❌❌❌❌

I think the hard work is yet to come Deb 😩, once the excercises start im sure there will be some OWIE days. But if total recovery is at the end then I'm up for the ride.....

Well done. I am hoping I don't have to have an op. My frozen shoulder was caused partly due to wearing a sling for too long,(5 weeks) so am a bit confused how you wearing a sling will  not stop the same thing happening again. Just a thought.

    Good luck

Hi Alison 😊. My surgery was to re attach a tendon that tore off the bone. The tendon has now been re-attached to the bone with stitches and anchors but has to knit to the bone. Hence the 6 weeks in a sling to allow the tendon to knit. It's known as a full thickness rotator cuff tear and had the same symptoms as FS, but surgery is the only option as a full thickness tear won't repair on its own. That's awful yours was worse after being in a sling but I'm guessing it was a FS and from what I have read on here the symptoms are the same but the treatment is different. Hope yours is better soon 😘❌❌

Awwww Kerri luv - still no sleep sad  I feel for you sad

Perhaps try some gentle over the counter sleeping pills - the non addictive sort! Or maybe a large glass of wine? It may help?

Rest as much as you can tomorrow - I'm stating the obvious aren't I - sorry huni its just that no sleep is as bad as pain - not good sad

    Love and hugs xxxx

Thanks Linda....naah, I kinda prefer the no pain....at the moment.

However if I don't sleep for a week I may have to revise that statement. I don't go to work and I'm not allowed to drive so really I can sleep all day if need be....all good. Thanks lovely for your kind thoughts 😘❌❌❌

Morning Kerri, hope you managed to eventually drop off? I think you should slowly reduce the Endone taking just half your usual dosage & ever so slowly reduce a little more & so on, that way you may get some quality sleep - your body has got used to having it!

You are deffo right though - no pain is the way forward lol..........Oh to be normal again lol smile

If its any consolation I to have had a 'rough' night..........in fact I can't remember the last time I slept through or had even a 'good night' sad

sigh.........Ok ok ok snap out of it Linda! sorry Kerri sad you understand.....

okey dokey so just getting breakfast here in UK so I guess you are just getting ready for bed again? Hope you manage some quality zzzzz lots of love and gentle huggies xxxx

I was still awake at 5am....so frustrating. Hubby went back to work today, so I've sat here in my armchair all day long on my own......BORING!!!

havnt had a great day today, while I was beautifully pain free yesterday arvo and last night, today I have been very achy all over.....shoulder, upper and lower back, legs. Have a heat pack on lower back at the moment, Jim suggested a bath....considering giving that a go. Just sick and tired as we all are of this jolly toothache like aching.

Cant believe you had a rough nite too, that's Mel, Seretta, Jim, you and me, weird HUH??? I can't remember the last time I had a good pain free nights sleep without the help of strong meds either. We are a sad and sorry bunch 😩. Thankyou for your gentle huggies they are definately the hilight of my crappy day today 😘❌❌❌
