Day 11 sertraline

Hello everyone I'm new to this site and feeling pretty fed up, depressed and hopeless. Ever since taking sertraline my sleep has been so messed up I wake every 2 hours then up early In the morning which leads me feeling like nothing on earth the next day. Some of the initial side effects are fading but still no improvement in sleep. All I want to know is, will this actually settle and improve, do I need to increase dose, or do I consider stopping. Day 11 now. I'm a single parent too with a baby to look after so everything is a struggle. Any advice please?

I am on my 7th week on 50mg Sertraline. And I can assure you that during my first 2 weeks i had the most fked up sleeping problems, such as sleeping 2-3 hours for the first few nights and needing a sleeping tablets, 10 mg of Zolpidem, on the second week which i continue for about 7 days. But from the third week, I am 85-95% of my former self. No Anxiety attack or panic attack, which was the main reason why I went on Sertraline. Please continue taking it because the medication works differently on each person and it might take longer for you to work.
All the side effects settled for me on about the 13-14th days. I used to sleep 4-5 hours every night prior to taking the tablets and 2-3 hours on the first week. Now I am on my 7th week and I am sleeping roughly 6-8 hours per night. And I am also hoping to see my doctor again to continue taking the medication for at least a few more months until i am definitely confident that I will be able to handle life without Sertraline.
I hope this helps. Stay strong. You are not Alone.

Thank you for your replies it's greatly appreciated. It's good to know I am not alone with the way I am feeling and I'm really hoping it will get better. I'm on day 12 now but my anxiety is so bad, as high as a kite. I hate it, that horrible surge of adrenaline constantly and gnot in my stomach. Still. Ant really eat, only bits. Think all my chemicals must have been low for a long long time so maybe taking its time to sort itself out 😩

I'm on Day 9, not far behind you.
For that constant churning, my GP gave me Propranolol 10mg x 3 times a day. It doesn't do a thing for mental anxiety but it calms the churning almost instantly. Worth asking your GP, maybe?

I am now on I think day 14/15 so been 2 weeks. My sleeping is still really really bad, sleep for about 3 hours then will wake every hour until I end up getting up about 4.30am. Also my anxiety is exceptionally bad. I've told propanalol before and didnt agree with me. Also got diazepam but only short course as doctors dont like to give it out. Will it get better can someone tell me please who has been there with the insomnia and anxiety as if not getting better I'll have to switch but seems so stimulating.

I'm now on day 19, i.ve been told it takes about 4 weeks to get into your system properly so I'm going to wait until then. Thinking about it I feel better than at the start but think am having a few bad days with anxiety and depression. The sickness has gone which is good. I shall keep posting but think it's best to give the medication a proper shot otherwise we will never know for sure if will help or not.
