    Hi jill89470

That's amazing. But don't overdo it!! I am on day 11 of my left hip been done!

And I actually managed without my pain killers this morning! Will take some at lunch but I am starting to feel normal again! It's amazing how quick the healing process is!

I have to get my second hip done too but going to see can I manage for a while before I do it! I have 12 weeks of work so I want to go back after this and maybe think about it next year! How did you know you were ready for the second hip!

Does your leg still swell at night! Mine does but in the morning it's back to normal!

Are you doing alll your exercises!

So delighted to hear that you have energy and my husband follows me around too! 😂😂 but he's returning to work tomorrow and has given me strict orders to sit and not overdo it!!!

    Best of luck

My other hip was hurting at the time I had my other one done but the surgeon wanted to wait as he said it would be best.Within a few months the pain got worse and was putting me back from heeling with my new hip,so I went back to the doctors and got reffered to a differnet surgeon who said it needed doing as it non on bone. Just hoping it's all been worth it the pain I have now is no worse than what I have been suffering. Mleg does swell at night but still keeping up with my painkillers. Good luck with your healing x

That's great Jill. Like you I was able to manage quite a bit quite quickly. But just be cautious of overdoing it in the morning and using up all your energy! Take things slowly and take breaks. And don't forget, if you have that much energy, you could always do some extra exercises to strength the hip more. In the long run the strength of your hip is the most important thing, mother laundry!

    hi jill,

I am so happy for you ...

sounds like you are doing great and also are mindful of your body ... rest is important, since major healing is taking place --

just keep the pace slow ... no bending, lifting or twisting yet okay? (for posterior)

the weather is gorgeous here (Holland) - around 0 C ,clear sky ... still icy patches everywhere so need to be careful where I go ..

    big warm hug

Hi Jill, glad you have that spurt of energy, it must feel great after two weeks of recovery. Do something fun too not just work. We get the snow one day and then I wait a few days to get out and go again too. My surgery is scheduled for March 7th because I'm hoping I can get out when I feel up to it for a walk. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Good for you Jill, glad you are feeling better.  I am 4 1/2 post op and I am feeling great!  Everyone says not to over do it and I agree with that to a point.  I think getting off the couch and moving your body as much as can tolerate in a day is the best PT you can get.  Best of luck
