Day 15- massive headaches and tiredness

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hi guys, day 15 here.

Am feeling constantly headachy and exhausted all the time. Monday was a good day and then Tuesday and today have been awful. Please tell me the headaches and tiredness will pass, feeling more emotional today too after worrying yesterday that my emotions were gone and I couldn't cry anymore. Ugh. Just looking for some reassurance I guess xo

Totally will change. I had headaches and was tired during that time as well. I am on week 5 and no longer have headaches and my routine is becoming way better. I found popping a headache tablet helped at that time as well. Make sure you check with your pharmacist first though to make sure they mix ok... but even a low dose of ibuprofen knocked the headache on the head and made life more bearable. The up and down days are normal as well. I have them even now but they are getting less and less. I found week 3 and into week 4 the worst for side effects but once through them things start getting way better. Hang in there.

Thank you very much! What dose are you on? Xx are you seeing some improvements in mood etc?

I started off on 10mg for 4 days and then I am now on 20mg. I switched from Citlopram after being on them for 16 years. It was time for a change.

I am seeing some improvements in mood for sure... but I am starting to see a psych on Friday which I think will really help. I have worked out that I can not just rely on the tablets to make life better.

    Hi,

I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. I do think it will pass. I hear repeatedly that weeks 2-4 are the worst. I went back to mg doctor last week on day 13 bc I was so miserable. She assured me this was totally normal and would pass in another couple of weeks. Try to hang in there! Take each day as it comes and try not to focus too much on how you are feeling. Keep us posted on your progress! It helps to put it in writing, I've found.

    Take care of yourself.

Hi Jennifer, it's 1am here and I can't sleep so I am up watching tv. Have had the worst night of anxiety tonight it's been terrible. Also muscles twitching etc. feeling terrible. Emotional too. Lucky I don't have work tomorrow! I'm so glad you are feeling a bit better xo

Oh, it just makes my heart hurt reading about your night bc I know exactly how that feels. I'm so sorry. I wish I had some magic words to say. I do know that each of these moments will pass...so just try to hold on. The increased anxiety from these meds is the pits. I have health anxiety so it just makes all of my symptoms seem that much worse. I had the muscle twitching last week too. Thankfully, for now at least, it has passed. I am just counting down the days and doing my best to survive. Keep your head up. Write me anytime, I've found these forums to be such a great source of comfort. Hugs to you.

Were you finally able to get some sleep?

Hi jennifer, thank you for your support. Yes I thought I was getting off likely as I didn't really have to much increased anxiety until last night and it was really bad.

I ended up getting to sleep about 2.30am and had about 4 hours. How are you feeling? I see you are having flu like symptoms? So hard how they make you feel worse before better!! Xx

I'm glad you got some sleep. Hopefully tonight will be better.

I am feeling achy and just kind of sick. It's frustrating, but I hope that it will eventually pass since the other side effects did as well. This is so hard!

Hi pipk, how are you feeling? I'm hoping you had a better night.

Hi Jennifer, I had a better sleep thank you XX thanks for checking! How are you doing?

I'm so glad to hear that! What dose do you take? I'm doing about the same, maybe a slight bit better. I talked to my doctor this morning and she said that flu-like symptoms are normal on Prozac, so that at least helps my peace of mind.

I'm only on 5mgs at the moment as I'm really sensitive to medication. Hoping to get up to 10mg next week maybe. I'm glad you are doing okay. What's the anxiety like? Has it increased at all? X

Yes, unfortunately. Mornings are the hardest. I do feel like I'm better able to calm myself than I was at the beginning. Still have a lot of irrational, obsessive thoughts. This is such a long process but I hope it will be worth it for all of us.

It's interesting a lot of people find mornings the hardest, my hardest time in actually about 5-7pm! Strange!! Yes it's a roller coaster that's for sure! Hopefully in a few months we will be writing back here about our success xx

I so look forward to hearing our success stories one day! What time do you take your meds? Maybe that has something to do with when your anxiety hits? I take mine at night.
    • Posted

Oh do you, yeah I take mine about 9am. Wonder if that does have something to do with it. X feeling some burning anxiety today. Do you ever get that? Like burning sensation in your body?

My chest sometimes burns when I'm feeling anxious. And when it's really bad, my right leg will get numb and weak. Anxiety is WEIRD with the physical symptoms it can create. I spent weeks and weeks thinking something horrible was wrong with me, until we realized it was all from anxiety. It can really mess with your head.

That's really hard and scary!! Are you going to stay on 10mgs? Or just see how you go?

    • Posted

I hope to be able to stay on 10, just bc I don't want to go thru the side effects again. But I will definitely increase if I don't see benefit from 10. What about you?
