Day 15 on 40mg... think I’m feeling better.

Increased my dose two weeks ago after being on 30mg for five weeks. Had a awful, awful day Monday going out of town for Christmas shopping, but yesterday and today I’m starting to feel like I’m coming around. Appetite is pretty much back to normal, even craved chocolate last night. Finally got around to dyeing my hair today, and even considering going to a ugly Christmas sweater party Friday.

Mood wise is still pretty flat, and energy levels are still very low. I sleep for 12 hours and by 10pm I’m dropping tired.

I’m still taking zopiclone and avitan to help with sleep (not both at the same time, but switching between both in hopes I won’t build tolerance so quick). Although I think I might half my doses of both of those starting tonight. Instead of taking 1mg of Ativan, I’m going to take 0.5 and see how it goes.

I really hope this is a good sign and the 40’s are actually helping. Got a doctors appointment Monday and was going to ask if I could be put on a small amount of mirtazapine with the citalopram to help with sleep because I’m terrified of benzos withdrawal, and I’m already pushing 3-4 weeks on taking either zopiclone or lorazepam for sleep. But maybe it’s best I stick to that for a few more weeks to see if I’m actually improving on the 40mg...

hi Nina i have been on lorazepam for 6 weeks now. My psych says it ok to be on it for a few more weeks yet. i take my 0.5 in the morning. Glad youre starting to feel better. Did you have aby side effects going from 20-30? ive just had a major depressive blip and wondering if i should increase.

None that I can recall going from 20 to 30.

Increasing to 40 however seemed quite hard, and I still have a lingering headache plus fatigue. My attention span hasn’t improved much either.

Im just hoping they’re working and this isn’t a random decent day.

I still don’t feel like they’re touching my depression much but at least I don’t feel absolutely miserable.

It’s good to know I’m not the only one relying on avitan to get by, I get really stressed about that sometimes lol. When my mood improves, I’ll try going without them for a few nights.
