Day 17 feeling bleugh

Well what a strange day. Up at 5, tea & book for an hour & then back to sleep in my recliner. Hubby up at 7.30 & another cup of tea. Still felt really tired so went back to sleep for another hour. Shower, breakfast & washed up & then spent the rest of the day reading/dozing. Cancelled visitors for this afternoon & slept some more. Indian takeaway for tea with sister & then slept some more! Pretty non eventful day really. I've only been for 1 small walk & done 1 set if exercises - I just can't be bothered! Hope everyone else is having a better day x

It does get better! I am 9 weeks out from left hip replacement. Sometimes still a little emotional. I credit my neighbor for getting me out the house and into society!
You have to push yourself out! It is still hard, but I make myself do it!
Out of the house to dinner, friends coming over..it just makes me get up and out of my pajamas!
And I sleep better at night when I'm tired from the days activities!
I also have lost 12 lbs and really don't have an appetite, but I eat a lot of yogurt, fruits and vegetables.
Tomorrow, friends are bringing a dish and I am also cooking! Something too look forward too!

Hugs to you dear woman. I hope tomorrow us a god day. But days of rest are good too - the body needs time to recuperate .

Thanks everyone for the replies. Its the first time I've had a day like that since my op so I should say I've been pretty lucky so far! It just threw me that I could sleep as much as I did! (I remembered Kate's post - sleep when you want, we are not ruled by the clock). Its 5.00am here in the UK in Sunday morning. I'm going back to sleep in my recliner & then my sister is taking me to Costco for an hour to get me out. I'll probably come back with a few less £'s in my pocket, 48 boxes of washing powder & 24 tins of beans! X

Oh, bless you, it takes you surprise when you've been more active, but I think it's just the healing process, you may have overdone it over the last couple of days. Just enjoy it while you are feeling sleepy and then do more next time you are awake. I think we all have days like that x

Goodmorning
That was actually a good day !!! seriously - your body needed this rest and probably your mind too - a lot of healing is taking place when you are resting and just surrender -
Costco eh? I remember Costco in Los Angeles -- enormous ... are you sure you are up to that ? it is exhausting even when in good health - or maybe it is me - I always got so excited and needed to walk every aisle, just in case I needed something I didn't think of ...do they have one of those scootmobiles?
if so, use it
Have fun, darling .... love to hear what you bought ...
big warm hug

You are right Renee, your body sure does tell you when you need to sleep!
I borrowed a wheelchair from work for a friends funeral last week & it's still in the car so I'm taking that. I won't be walking, it's far too big! I think my sister & her husband will treat me like a bag lady & load me up with stuff & you won't be able to see me underneath everything! X

then yoghurt and fruit. Medication and some exercises. Still in bedroom. Went back to bed with a cup of tea and a book. Woke up again at 1.15!
good plan because then I had enough energy to watch Adele at Glastonbury!!r
i think if your body is telling you to sleep. Do just that. Mother Nature is trying to fix us!
fairy dust coming your way. 💫

My moods are up and down so.much since my ops and now l have knee's l felt s??t when l found out between that and my mum l felt like screaming why me l am only 43 but l have digested it now and have to do it. I have made a pack with my mum that we both will get through this and book the most luxury villa in cyprus and have the holiday of our dreams. It gives is somrthing to aim for especially my mum as she need posativaty snd happiness around her just now so l am.putting a brave face on in front of my mum even though l am scared stiff as l.went on the knee forum and they are telling me the pain for knee replacements is so much worse than hips.....yipee can't wait ha ha
But back to you young lady you will be ok its a rollercoaster this hip malarky good days and teally blah days when you just cry. But you have all us for support.kate was right about sleep l was awake and am awake most nights at between 4 and 5am and l get up and come down and lie on my couch and fall asleep. I don't think my wee hubby has woke with me in bed since november but he understands and hust lets me do whatever makes me feel comfortable. Enjoy costco hun.. hopefully it will make you feel better.

Good for you Laura. What a nice thing to look forward to - a luxury villa in Cyprus, it sounds wonderful. We're going to Norfolk in September in a lovely big house & massive garden for the dogs. As long as the weather is kind I'm really looking forward to it.
I too wake up around 4.30-5.00 but that's usual for me. I'm glad I bought my recliner as my sofa is too low - I can get down but can't get up!
Well Costco didn't have any electric scooters so I wasn't able to bomb around much! My sister & BIL took it in turns to push me round & I came home a few hundred quid lighter! It was nice to get out though x
