Day 2 After Hardware Removal Ankle

I had the plate and screws removed from my ankle yesterday that were out in from ORIF surgery in June from trimallelor fracture and dislocation.  Yes only waited six months.  The post op pain is very manageable — half the doseage of narco as was prescribed after the first surgery.  Wondering how long this recovery is — before I am pain free and walking.  Anyone else gone through this?  Thanks!

    Hi Christine

    I had exactly same injuries as yourself to my right ankle. Hardware was removed in November 2016 and I would say I am only just now pain free. I still have the odd shooting pain. Hope that helps

    So the hardware removal didn’t help you ?

    Not right away no. But like I said it got better with time and now almost back to normal except for heels
