Day 2, am i over thinking?

I'm a 19 year old female and I recently went to the doctors after months of leaving my situation to get worse and worse till I eventually blew and had my first ever panic attack, I then got 5 following panic attacks over the following week and eventually went to the doctors. I've also always been very self consious and you could say I hate myself. I got put on 50mg of Sertraline and although it has only been 2 days I am worried about the side effects.
My job involves lots of concentration and I seem to be getting blurry vision and loss of concentration frequently. It feels as though I'm tired but when it is evening I find that I cannot sleep and my jaw is very painful (I'm guessing this is from clenching which I have noticed). Are these side effects normal and how can I stop my jaw from hurting so much?
I know it takes up to 4 weeks to see a change in feeling anxious so for now I am seeing no difference which is only to be expected but how long till I see some difference with not crying for no reason?
Sorry for the long message.

As you take them your body will become more and more used to them! I'm just finishing my first week and I kinda enjoy the kinda drowsy high the pill gives me but I take them when I lay in bed and am down with the day! I'm only on 25mg tho but I've taken drugs before and got some of those jaw clenched side effects when the drugs were too strong. Maybe you should consider lowering the dose to start or at least asking the doctor about it.
Last night I took my pill and it's makes me so drowsy so sleeping so I was tired but woke up and was scared for some reason I was scared and I kinda laughed thinking why am I scared and how I was so tired I didn't care and went back to sleep, it happened again a little later I woke and was staring at a pair of shoes in the corner of my closet trying to figure out why I was so scared and anxiou

Hi Esme,
It's fair to say a lot of people do get side effects in the first few weeks, tiredness, often stomach related side ffects like nausea, etc...I have been on sertraline for some time now, in fact I have been on 50mg, 10mg and 150mg, and am now coming down the doses to eventually come off hopefully ( I have been on for 2 years )....I do recognise the side effect of jaw clenching, in fact it's something I have suffered from for about 10 days when I last dropped down from 100mg to 50mg, andI was grinding my teeth in the night too. For me it wa a pssing phase, it is hard to ignore it I know, but if you really need the meds then it would be best perhaps if you could get signed off work for 2 weeks whilst you get over the majority of the side effects.
