Day 4 and I am able to take 100 steps

Posted , 10 users are following.

Okay it is done and I am home. I can take about 100 steps and it is painful but not so painful that I can't stand it.The surgery went well and I feel like the recovery is going as well. Starting Monday I will have more help visiting nurse, rehab coming to my house and a caregiver to do some of the things I can't do right now.

I live in Waco Texas and my daughter is in ICU in Austin and she is critical but making baby step improvments. Today and tomorrow I am going there. Car ride then they will use a wheel chair to get me to her room. This was a huge step to have this hip replacement while she is so sick but I can't help her in the shape I was in.

Just a huge thank you for the ones that helped me decide to do this and to go forward with the total hip replacement.

Thank you,

Bea Loesch

I just felt I had to contact you and say what a wonderful mum you must be. If your daughter has your determination and strength then she will pull through and make a full recovery.Just be careful and don't over do it. I am now 3weeks and 4 days post op after left THR. We do not get such good after care here in the UK. We are left to our own devices.

Will be thinking of you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery

    Dear Bea,

congratulations .... it takes so much courage to make the decision and then get this surgery ... that is why this forum is priceless ----

people around me, family and friends and doctors acted like it was "just a procedure" and done bizillion times -

make sure you take a cushion with you in the car and have a look how to get in- and out ...

sending love, light and healing to both of you ..

have a safe drive and let us know how it went okay ...

    big warm hug

Glad it went well for you. Please don't over do it and take breaks in the car so your leg does not swell. Still praying for your daughter please tell her she has a lot of us thinking and praying for her recovery. Good luck God Bless

I remember the days when  I used to count the steps I could make in a day - soon you'll be counting the miles 😺

Prayers for you, your daughter and your family. God's healing power to you both. Be careful when you take this drive. Waco is not too far but nonetheless it's a long drive. I too am from Texas. San Antonio. Praying all goes well. Let us know. Hugs, 🤗 LD

Wrote this once and it disappeared boohoo

My daughter Melissa is doing better. Still in ICU critical but a lot better and more stable than she was. Hopefully they will start taking her off the ventilator this week. She heard my voice and smiled and nodded..she knows I love her and I am there for her.

Me, well I am walking all over the house. Made the drive to Austin and back..Letting the dogs in and out doing very little house work(lazy) Nurse, rehab and someone that is going to clean me up and my messes up will be here in the morning!I have washed dishes and folded clothes doing very light house keeping! I feel okay a little sore and sleeping in a recliner which is fine.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers for Melissa and me.

      Bea
