Hi I suffer bad panick attacks which have destroyed my life, I suffer with M.E  too, I have had so much stress with two kids with specail needs, and doing the job alone, I have not felt myself in a long time, but things have just got worse, I can't leave house on my own for fear of having a panick attack, anyway I went to my gp and he gave me sertraline, he said I can half the tablet which I have done, this is day 4 and I am feeling zoned out, kind of like in a trance find it hard to concentrate and feel nauseated too, I am wanting to know how long this will last for, and how long should I take half the tablet for, as if half is making me feel this bad then I don't want to be taking the full 50 mg, I still feel very panicky, the doctor gave me 2mg of diazapam to help me through if needed I am trying not to take them unless desperate, I have kids to look after and just want to get better, want to beable to take them out without getting panick attacks, I also have a bit of depression feel low in myself, I want to try stick to these tablets but just want to know how long side effects will go on for as only on 25 mg and dare not take the full dose yet, taking all my time to write this as I feel very spaced out. Can anyone give me hope please thanks

I took it for depression and felt completely normal and took it for many years.  Give it a chance. I know it can take 4-6 weeks to kick in.  I starting have heavy anxiety and panic attacks when I withdrew from Sertraline.  Do lots of slow, deep breathing many times a day.  It helps.  We know what you're dealing with. So sorry.  Hang in there!
