That's awful, you poor thing sad You must be feeling so bad with this.

Take some time out to try and relax and make yourself feel calmer, it really sucks feeling this way but its not forever. You've come this far and you can do it! When I'm feeling sicky with this I go take a bath, then go watch a favourite film in bed to try and relax, can't hurt right? smile

Make sure youre drinking plenty of water xxx

    Heya Anne,

Diarrhoea is quite common with Sertraline at any dose, as is constipation for that matter! It's not exactly enjoyable...I find it infuriating myself, but it's very much the norm and you'll be fine smile If it's troubling you ask your doctor what relief you can get from off-the-shelf remedies, but don't go shopping for them yourself as in some diarrhoea and constipation relief medecines theres a couple of things that don't work well with the Sertraline, so get their advice on a more gentle approach smile

Chin up, it's still early days and it does subside after a few weeks, just remember plenty of water to keep your fluids up smile

    Hi Anne,

I've been on Sertraline 50mg for Nine weeks, the first Two to Three weeks I went through similar side effects. Such loose bowels, loss of appetite, hot flushes/sweating bouts, a pins and needles sensation all over my body. And even now I get a dry mouth or I sweat a little more than I used to, but that's a Small price to pay considering I was a emotional wreck before. But now I'm 98% back to myself, I wouldn't stop taking your Medication without first consulting you GP. Also, drink lots of Water (2ltr) a day, trust me, it helps. We're all here for support and the people here are fantastic with advice 😊

I'm sure you will Anne, but if by the next couple of weeks you see no difference or improvement. Go back to your GP and discuss your concerns and he/she will probably prescribe you an alternative, keep your updates posted Anne, and you will come through as you say, the other side x

    Hi Anne,

Oh I've got the "tummy runs" too! I like that expression, by the way ??

My PA started me on 50mg. I noticed a change in my bowels, like first thing in the morning when I took the Zoloft the night before. But I was still pretty normal, but then my PA bumped my dosage to 100mg and immediately it was like I was cleaning out for a colonoscopy .

😝 So I have been this way for about three weeks. I am hanging in there because, finally, after about two months, my depression and anxiety are leveling out. I'm getting things done, don't have the highs and lows like I used to have. I started a vegetable juice fast. When I was on it, last year, it really reduced the times I had to go. Some people actually get constipated following this fast. Well, so far not so great, but I

do think it's slowing down and not so often.

I'm not suggesting you do this, just telling you how I choose to try and work through this. I started taking Imodium too. Yuck! Nasty! If this doesn't work my PA said she will prescribe something to try and slow things down. I'm really hoping to get control over this, because I don't want to stop the medication.

So don't worry. You don't have some horrible disease! It's a side affect many of us have. Let's just hope it stops!!!

Let me know how you're doing 😊
