Day 6th on pristiq 50mg

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hey all,

day 6th on pristiq after stopping my escitalopram for 2 days for the change over. I have to admit other than a bit of diahrea and a bit of a headache here and there I feel so much better than when I was on the escitalopram! I can't believe how good I feel even after day 1.

here's to hoping that things look up for me and I can start driving more without hesitation 😊

    Hey C,

Great to hear you're feeling better. What what's your medication for again?

      Hey leadfrost,

      Thanks,

Not that great unfortunately. VA stills has done nothing but given me Benadryl for my panic attacks, which I'm having 4-5 now in the given day that last for about an hour to two hours each.

They queued me for impatient treatment but the waiting list for that is about a month so... Just waiting till then.

      Hey leadfrost,

that's not good that your not ok!

surely they can give you something for your panic attacks like xanax or something.

have you tried seeing a gp instead? Or would the wait be more longer?

hang in there! I know how tough it is but you will get there.

      Hey Cas,

The VA doesn't prescribe narcotics. The logic is so veterans don't get hooked or kill themselves with them. Funny, seeing that vet suicides are at a all time high.

I am scared to take medication, so I do my best to manage my symptoms naturally but it's really hard.😞

      Hey leadfrost,

That's not good at all! they should be trying harder to help veterans. Look at what yous have done for your countries! they need to support yous more!

I'm so sorry you haven't gotten the help that you need!

I know medication is scary I felt the same before I started taking them but for me they help me get my head right (stop spinning).

you always have everyone on here to help you through! and you will get through this!

    Hi Cassandra,

It's good that you found a medication that helps you. When you feel "normal" , can you please let me know? On the internet, it said 6 to 9 weeks, but I don't whether they mean will feel "normal" after 6 to 8 weeks.

I am on my medication for 9 weeks, feeling 80 % better, but my doctor does not want to give me another medication. He said to wait for more 3 months, brain takes time to work.

      Hey Tracy,

what meds are you on? Glad your feeling 80% better, that must mean your medication is working so your doctor is right wanting to let it mellow out for a while to see if you have more improvement before adjusting your meds as it will probably start up more side effects if you do adjust.

will let you know how I go but I'm hopeful this time. I even had the urge to drive today so that's a good sign!

      Hi Cassandra,

I am on Duloxetine 90 mg/day. That is the maximum dose for me. Also, I have Xanax 0.25 mg, 3 times per day. But, I have taken 2 times. I still feel anxious for no reasons, so I take Xanax to help.

      Hey Tracy,

oh ok definately give it more time to work then! hopefully the anxiety will pass as the days go by unfortunately it is just a waiting game for the medication to kick in properly.

hoping it all passes for you soon and you feel better!
