Day 8 on Sertraline feeling more anxious.

I’ve been on sertraline for 8 days now and I’m more anxious today! I know it takes 6-8 weeks for the meds to work properly but can anyone give some advice on what to take to calm the anxiety? I’m 21 years old and I had anxiety all my life it’s awful and I feel like I can’t live a normal life anymore, I just hope this works because I’ve been on mirtazapine and that made me worse, also I’m shaking all the time and I got a fizzy head and sometimes my vision gets blurry. When will these side effects calm down?

    Also this is my first time on here! I thought it might be helpful to me hearing from people who suffered the same experience! It’s tough going through this alone.

    Hi Rose. .my doc percribed me diazapam 2 take the edge off the side effects of the sertraline. .like you. I have the shakey feeling to. .and it's horrible. . I've been on 100mg for 3wks now. .and 50mg previous 2 that. .but unfortunately it takes it a wile 2 kick in Rose. Hoping this info helps. .God bless. .

      Thank you! I will ask my doctor for some and hopefully it will take the edge off it but i also got some propranolol 80mg but they don’t work for me unfortunately. Thanks for the advice! xx

    Hi Rose, i’ve been on Sertraline  for three weeks and I still feel funny and Axiours. 

    My doctor gave me two weeks of Diaspam but then informed there addictive and wouldn’t prescribe any more.  Went back to my GP he gave me Zopiclone for a couple weeks till the side affects of Sertraline eased. 

    However, I’m on my last few so I just hope I can cope after. 

    I really do know how you feel, hope you start to feel better soon.

    My Rhumotolist said she would give ne a low dose of Nortriptyline because that suppose to help you sleep. 

    I hope mg GP agrees that I can take it with my  Sertraline too.

    Speak to you doctor because they may be able to give you something to counteract the Sertraline affects

      Thank you! I will some my GP and hopefully he will give me something to calm the anxiety because it’s awful but I’m glad that I’m not alone on here, I feel like I can share my feelings and it helps me a bit. Thanks for your advice. xx
