Could it be that falling back asleep could be the culprit? It would not be difficult to test it out.

Hi, I've been on 50mg for eleven weeks now.  I suffered quite badly with side effects of being unable to concentrate, ringing in my ears and finding it hard to focus my eyes on things when initially looking at them.  It took me about four weeks to get past that, and during that time I was quite anxious that I was getting these awful side effects and feeling generally 'wierd'.  However, after that first four weeks I started to feel more normal, and the background anxiety (and feeling of doom?) subsided.  I have continued to feel better as the weeks have gone on, but it was about 4 weeks until I felt much calmer.  I take my sertraline at 6 when I get up, but I do get up way before I need to, so don't have anything to eat until 7, and it doesn't bother me.  My friend was on it and felt quesy, so was advised by her GP to take it in the evening, but now that feeling has gone she has gone back to taking it in the morning.  Hope that helps.   The only thing that I get now is awful night sweats.  Hopefully you won't get them..  I didn't get that until about 8 weeks though.  Bear with it, it will get better x

You have to persevere Dawn it can take up to four to six weeks but believe me it works and has the least side affects of any other anti depressant.

I would suggest you get the following books - The Curse of the Strong by Dr Tim Cantopher and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy by Dr Stephen Briers.  Read the Dr Tim Cantopher one first then go on to the one by Dr Briers, it works and there is a light at the end of the horrible tunnel of depression, you just have to be determined to beat it !!!

Hi Dawn, I did not feel like this, but have you tried taking it at 8am rather then at 6.30 and see what happens.
