Dealing with chronic pain

What do you take for chronic pain?
Do you recommend seeing a Pain Management Specialist? Not sure how much experience/knowledge they have in this part of body.
Finding a Pelvic Pain Specialist is tough as most are "women only". Wondering if that would help too.
I have been taking 2400 mg/day of Advil (Rx strength) for 7 months now. Not sure if it is helping. Also concerned about potential kidney damage.

I was first put on amitriptyline, and then pregabalin, but they didn't really work, the side effects just made me feel ten times worst.
I've also been to see the pain management yeam who also told me to take pregabalin, they have also offered me a trial nerve block injection which is end of this month. They said the nerve block is only meant to bring short term relief, hours to days, they also said it may not even work???
I find this a pointless task, why even bother to offer something so short term, I may even cancel...

I was prescribed amitriptyline a few years ago after seeing a pain management specialist for groin pain. The pain was unbearable at times; felt like my testicles were in a vice. I'm not taking the meds anymore as I didn't feel they were doing anything. Had a load of tests carried out at the time; MRI, bloods, CT, cystoscopy - all clear. I've benefited more from exercise to be honest; lots of stretching, back strengthening, yoga, and keeping up with physio home exercises. I'm pretty sure its muscular with me; sitting in the same position for long periods & not keeping up with the exercises aggravates whatever is the cause & brings on the pain. I have also had treatment via a chiropractor & pain management therapist. Hope this helps.

Is your testicular pain constant or does it come and go? I always have a dull ache in the left testicle but there are certain activities that cause it to flare up and put me in bed for a day.
The epididymis is always a little swollen but certain physical or stressful activities cause it to swell up a lot and then the testicle swells up twice its size. It is very painful.
Does your pain move into your lower back and then down your leg? It seems my nerve pain in the testicle can trigger pain in my sciatic nerve that paralyzes me.
The worse activity for me unfortunately is sex. But the scrotal pain does not start until 6 hours or so later which is strange.
I have tried all pain meds and none work except for Percoset which is Oxycodone plus tylenol. It gives me complete pain relief which helps to break the pain cycle until the next trigger.
I tried Botox injection and they did help for a few weeks. I am looking into the Denervation procedure and was scheduled for it last month but cancelled it because I cannot find anyone who has had it.
