Debilitating confusion I can't describe. I

Over the last year I've had this terrible sensation in my head. It really doesn't make any sense. When I try to look at something my head just gets overloaded. It's the most uncomfortable sensation and I feel everyday even though I try to ignore it. I know that still doesn't make sense so I'll try to elaborate further; objects, how they are angled/oriented freak my brain out. I cant drive, draw, or straight up imagine certain things without being overwhelmed. Watching movies/shows is especially hard. It's like my brain isn't fitting or comprehending things correctly.

I tried explaining it to my Gp but tests always come back normal or don't indicate anything. Ive also tried antidepressants and anti-anxietymedication but it hasn't helped either. I'm just hoping someone out there understands what I'm going through. This literally started out of nowhere one day last year and I don't know why.

Hi Brandon, i can relate a little to your issues even though mine, as you will see in my profile, describes a separate condition. Along with this I also suffer from anxiety, particularly socially (face to face), i have mild cognitive issues & a few other functional difficulties. I too do not drive.

What you describe sounds similar to what i experience daily; feeling mentally overloaded & overwhelmed but by everyday tasks rather than things, that most people don't seem to struggle with (or at least don't talk about!). I don't wish to bore you with further details unless you are interested but to get to the point, i have learned this can be symptomatic of a form of autistic spectrum disorder-what's often called Silent or Invisible autism. Do check this out online to see if you think the symptoms/description fit your experiences. I am happy to send you a link myself if you like. My second train of thought, also on the mild end of the autistic spectrum is a Sensory Processing Disorder. Were you particularly sensitive as a child to loud or sudden sounds, particular colours, smells or textures?? If so, check this condition out too. Again, i am happy to send you some information.

I hope i have given you some food for thought!

    Wishing you all the best,

    Caroline 😃
