I drink decaf coffee--just one cup in the morning.  What happens after you drink it?

Before my IBS started up I drank

Regular coffee. And I would go soon after normal bowel. I haven't tried decaf yet but I think I will and if I get a beg reaction I will not drink it any longer.

I'm not sure what you mean.  Are you saying that, after drinking regular coffee you would have a normal BM?  Do you mean in the morning after your first cup?  If so, this sounds fine.  Why do you want to switch to decaf?

That was before I had a maj flare up due to an anafalactic reaction to soft shell crab. But since that reaction irritated my gut and I have become sensitive to gluten

Lactose in milk. Since now I do not have to take any stimulants to have a BM. I have a feeling if I had reg coffee I would get diarrea. But I will try decaf org. And see what happens.

Yes. But when IBS symptoms serviced again I dig that when it was dormant if coffee did that to me then now that my colon is spastic having reg coffee with create more spasms hence forth loose stool. But I will try cafe and see how it he colon reacts.

Any coffee gives me bad cramps. It's not necessarily the caffeine that's the problem it's the chemicals in the coffee

Off topic but for anyone who is interested I drink decaf tea.

Coffee gives me migraines and when I was in hospital years ago I was told to steer clear of coffee and cheese as both very bad for migraines.

I do the same, I drink no caffeine tea. I stopped drinking coffee for my migraines and steer clear of aged cheeses. I can tolerate some cheeses, however.

I have been eating vegan cheeses but I will try cheddar. And see how it goes.

I can not tolerate any cheese or coffee.  Once I had an amaretto liqueur coffee as it was Christmas and I was in a nice independent coffee shop with a friends and that was nice and I was fine but I did say mucho amaretto and weak coffee. We were all re-reading LOTR as the film was about to come out.  I have not touched coffee since. The biggest issue for me though was always cheese because as soon as I cut cheese out I stopped having blackouts so unless coincidence I blame cheese.
