Hi Sarah! A decayed tooth can cause a lot of problems in the rest of your body, especially if the lesion has reached the root canal level and an infection is going on there.
The feeling you are having may very well be caused by the decayed tooth. Your body may be reacting to the inflammatory process with a fever and a swollen lymph node, for example.
See a dentist and don't let the infection progress.

Yes, decaying teeth can cause serious health issues. When decay become severe, the pain starts interfering with your daily life. Severe teeth decay can lead to weight loss, nutrition issues, even brain infections and heart infections.
