Declining estrogen sore stiff joints

Hi ladies
I cannot believe that my sore, stiff joints are due to low estrogen. 2 years ago I was playing badminton and swimming with no sore joints. Now I have osteoarthritis in my big toe. My fingers are stiff and hurts to bend in the morning. The last week my wrist hurts to move. It's like I'm 90 not 47. I take all the oils and am on HRT but I still have it. God knows what it would be like if I didn't take anything.
I've been through a terrible 2 years with the most awful symptoms:
To begin I had headaches every day, depression, anxiety and panic attacks. I couldn't even take my kids to appointments. I could never plan anything in advance. Then I had burning mouth syndrome for 6 months. I don't sleep well at all which I know is one of the main symptom. I've had this for years. However 4 months ago I started a new part time job which I never thought I could do. I love it. It engages your brain. These joint aches are a nightmare,my doctor suggested a cortisone injection. Could it be I'm quite a way into my journey of menopause?

Hi Michelle,
I'm sorry to hear all that from you. I haven't slept for good 2 years now and I am only 43 turned in November 😉. Sweating, melting at night - I need to change my night dress gets so wet then dizziness for a moments, anxiety, thinking what will happen to my kids if I die 😕. Can't help. Only if I'm busy I'm fine.
May I ask you about Burning Mouth? I have got it since September it's better now but October and November were horrible it was agony. So, it will just go?
I'm waiting for the appointment but in England it's so slow unless you are not dieing.
Blessings

Blessings

The burning mouth does gradually disappear. I am from the UK and I was referred to a maxofacial specialist. Nothing helped. They will do blood tests. I found chewing gum helped a bit. It was so depressing,I feel for you. All the best and hopefully it will ease soon x

Thank you Michelle, I even have seen the Consultant at Guy's Hospital before Christmas because my GP thought I have Cancer! Thanks God the Consultant checked me and refered further saying I have got Burning Mouth 😕. At the moment it's most annoying part it gets bad afternoon and then goes down. It is much better now.
Will try chewing gum -don't like but try. I hate chewing gums.
Sleepless nights are bad because around 15.00 I feel so tired 😈
So, what else I will get?
Blessings to you all, Ladies.

Hi Michelle,
I also have stiff joints and I'm going to try supplementing with gelatin and/or collagen, besides the tart cherry extract (tart cherry juice) that I already take. That helps in the sleeping department, too. I wouldn't take a cortisone injection, because over time this can make things worse, I've heard.
Best of luck to you!

Thanks Lynda
I'm thinking the same about the injection. Will only have it if it stops me from walking.

You're welcome. We all need to experiment and find out what works best for us--process of trial and error--I guess.
Please let me know how you get on!

Hi Michelle, sorry to hear you are suffering with the aches like this.
I went to my Pilates class this morning and as I lay down on the (not very soft) mat my shoulder blades and back ached, then we had to lie our legs up against the wall and my ankle felt numb and achy then we were on one leg swinging the other and my hip ached and burned and I thought 'why am I doing this to myself'!
But I must admit I felt better at the end of class and have had a bit more energy this afternoon.
Nice to hear you are still enjoying your job.
Do you take any painkillers for the joint pains?
Love M x

Hi Masie
I'm going to start pilates or something in that line next week. I need to loosen my body up. I take cod liver oil and sea buckthorn oil amongst a few other supplements. I think I may start a good fish oil from H&B. My friend takes it. How are you keeping? X
