Deep Tissue Massage

Hi all I am 8 months post op TKR have been very lucky in my recovery progress. Am pain free and have full range of motion.  I do have stiffness from the back of my knee when moving after sitting for a while but recently it seems to be getting worse  even affecting my range of movement. Am thinking it could be scar tissue? I’ve booked in with a sports masseuse for a consultation, could this help? Thanks

HI Freestork, I would think sports massage would help enormously.

Massage as well as exercise is a really good way to help the breakdown of scar tissue.

My nephew was a personal trainer whilst at uni & he worked alongside a sports masseuse. He revommended it highly.

Let us know how you go with it.

Following on from my first massage session it has helped enormously! Back ok knee a bit tender but already not as stiff. Physio treated whole of both legs and feet! Says important to balance and the biggest muscle runs length of leg so needs to stretch. She also states diet is important to keep nutrition. 2nd session next week!
