Degenerative disc disease(DDD) L3/4/5 - so much pain

Posted , 13 users are following.

Hi. I have had an MRI which has shown DDD on 3 discs. I have now had this lower back pain for 12 months. I have had acupuncture/chiro/steroid & epidural injections and nothing has helped with the pain. This is all alongside medication. An Orthopedic consultant has said it is not operable as it involves too many discs. So I am now left in pain still, depressed and no quality of life whatsoever. Has anyone been in this situation or has any ideas . Clutching at straws for my own sanity, husband and my 15 year old & 4 year of twins.

Thanks

Hi everyone, I’ve got the same problem and I’m only 22. I’m in Australia and I’m struggling to find what the best options are. I have had this for almost 4 months and have recently gotten worse again, with my pain level being at 8.5-9/10  with the only relief of laying down (pain at 6.5-7/10)

I’d also like to know if you were able to be placed on disability as I will not be able to work. I’ve read this forum but I’d like as much help as possible. Thanks

    Hi.

My last try at getting relief from the pain I've had five years and everyday that goes in its getting worse.

My doctor is booking an Appointment for injection into spinal column.

If that don't work I've got to suck it up ad carry on.

I had two discs replaced in neck three years back and even my neck is starting to give me intense pain again.

Coupled with extreme lower back pain on L4-L5 and surgeon saying he cannot operate as failure rate too high.

Just like you I'm hoping there's an answer. But I've been chasing this for a long time now spent a small fortune on alternative mediences. Nothing works and apart from other people who suffer like us, they just don't understand.
