Dehydration headaches last 2-3 days

Hi. Trying to work out where my headaches come from. (I also get the occasional migrane headache so there is a POSSIBILITY that these could be minor migranes I suppose).

Get these about every 2 weeks, could be different time of week but usually after a period where I have reduced liquid intake; could be chocolate, alcohol, tiredness induced.  The main issue is that once I have it, NONE of the off-the-shelf tablets fixes it.  The strongest I have tried -via doctor- is co-codamol and that does not work either.  So I have 2-3 days of 7/10  headache.  Theory - dehydration shrinks brain - results in headache; is it possible that paracetamol, codeine, aspirin etc cannot resize the brain and so headache remains.  ANY suggestions appreciated. Cheers from the UK!
