My neurologist will not prescribe sinemet says at 64 I am too young? I'm on amantadine only. Three years of shaking and I am tired. Any opinions on the value of delayed treatment?

My husband was put on sinemet and stalevo at 49. 11 years later he has compulsive behavior, common after many years at high doses. He had DBS which was supposed to make him not need much meds but that was wrong. He still took high doses of both drugs. I would be interested to know of alternative meds. We are going to Rush Hospital in January. CDH has been a horrid experience for us.
