Delayed period but experiencing symptoms?

Hello

I am writing this on behalf of my partner.

As of today, her period is 38 days late. Her cycle app is predicting the next one on 12 of October but she has not had one since the 16th of August?

she is experiencing tender breasts and abdominal pain, but no bleeding as of yet. She did a pregnancy test today at around 17:15 and it has come back negative.

She recently finished treatment for chlamydia on the 25th of August but potentially missed a day of treatment may not of done it properly. Our biggest concern is the development of PID, but generally just wondering why her period is delayed for so long although she is experiencing symptoms (tender breasts and abdominal pain)

could someone offer any advice? Thanks 😃
