Delusional parasitosis? So depressed

I'm quite honestly going mad here
I work in a school, and of course, I manage to pick up every bug that the kids do, despite my good hygiene.
A few months ago, I suspected I had threadworms, So I did all the right things, took mebendazole, changed sheets, took another dose, etc.
I looked, but never saw any worms at night. I think I may have possibly seen one in the toilet bowl - but I can't be sure.
I'm not getting insane itching like what is described in symptom lists, more just a twinge occasionally, and it wakes me up as im dozing off to sleep.
But this has been going on for months, the itch goes away for a few days, comes back..
I have liteally taken nearly 4 packets of mebendazole.
But every time I get up at night to take a look, I can't see any worms.
Am I going mad here?
Has anyone else had this problem?

Best thing is go to a doctor and make sure they ask for a tape test, the stool test does not show anything.
I am still fighting. I have no itching in my bottoms but my nose and ears itch very much. Not sure if it is the same problem, doctors did not find anything else.
I felt improvemennt after I startednine days of combined medications three days morning and evening of pamoate pyrantel then three mebendazole the 3 pamoate....did not take albenza anymore since I did not improve with that one.
started near the full moon. After finishing the nine days I started with herbs clove, wormwood and black walnut.....I am in my second month...this month i took only six days of chemicals and getting better. Hope it helps. But first take the test.

Aerated moussy-textured poo is a sure sign they're there. I also find they're easy to spot when using moist toilet tissue.
Also, given the over-soft consistency of my poo since catching these creatures I simply won't be without moist toilet tissue!
Hope this helps you get to the bottom of things...
(terrible pun--sorry!)

I really feel for you, and I don't know what you have got, but since I started this thread https://patient.info/forums/discuss/long-term-threadworms-i-think-i-have-found-a-solution-34679?page=0#440973 there have been developments and it might help you.
The basic question is, if it's not threadworm then what?
After I had taken an atihistamine which had stopped the symptoms, to my dismay, the itching came back within a week, I had concluded that it wasn't worms, so I celebrated by eating and drinking loads of sweet stuff, which corresponded to an almost immediate bout of intense itching round the anus, so I started googling itchy bottom and I came up with this
Pruritus aniA persistent itchy feeling around the anus can be caused by overgrown yeast travelling down from your colon.
Where else can candida grow?A yeast infection is not limited to the vaginal area. It can be present in other parts of the body as well and cause various symptoms. Here is a list of where yeast infections can appear and what type of symptoms may occur:
• Vaginal yeast infection
Intense itching in the vaginal area, burning during urination and vaginal discharge are all common symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection. This is what most people think of when they hear the words 'yeast infection'. However, yeast can colonise anywhere in the body.

And so, in I bought an anti thrush tablet ( Flucanazole ) in the spirit of eliminating all possibilities, and the itch cleared up within 24 hours! I cut out all sugary stuff to avoid feeding the thrush, which is what the Pharmacist advised me to do, and now I'm more or less fine, although I relapsed with the sugary stuff this weekend due to paries, and a slight itch returned, whigh I will respond to by a no sugar diet, ( good for the waistline also ).
Anyway Liz, I would suggest exploring all possibilities, my doctor did not consider this possibility, I had to find this out for myself, but it's woth taking an objective approach, and even if treating various other possibilities don't work, then you can at least go back to the doctor better informed, anyway, here's a link to the page I found the information on, good luck, and I send my empathy to you all, as I have battled with this on and off for 20 years, and only in the past few years been open to it being due to other factors.

You are not going crazy. Seems to me the ones that are, are the ones that are treating you for "Delusional Parasitosis".
What you suffer is real, as anyone reading the posts on this site can attest. I suggest you start detoxing your body. Find out how, by tying into your computer, "How to kill parsitic worms".
Very simple and cost effective, and keep on doing this per instructions you receive. Natural herbs has been a proven way to do this, and to keep the critters at bay.
It does seem that the public at large is at great risk for these almost microscopic critters.
Good luck to you and all the other sufferers. And all the best to each your way.
