Dense Breast - pain in left breast

I went the beginning of the year for my yearly and it came back with an irregular reading on the mamogram.  So i went in for another exam (ultrasound and 3d) and i have dense breasts.  My aunt was diagnosed with ductile cancer years ago.  Anyway, they said nothing to be concerned about, we will see you in a year.  Well the past 2.5 months i have had constant pain in my left breast that will sometime travel to left back bone, shoulder and at times the pain is horrible and others it is really uncomfortable.  Went to heart doctor per my PCP and heart is fine, stress test fine - so went back to my lady doctor and she did a exam - check the right then the left and back again - felt some more tissue on the left (which it is swollen a bit) and said i need to go for additional testing as things can change in 6 months and there have been more cases of breast cancer where i am from.  I was wondering if anyone had any advice, suggestions or similar issues.  Today putting on my deodorant, my left was very tender and that is new.  Thank you.

Hi, I'm only 26 but have been suffering for almost 10 years with dense breast tissue! I have been refered back and forth between the doctors and the breast specialists over the years and although I can see and feel lumps I'm told there is nothing there! The pain became so unbareable a few years ago that they finally recommended a drug which when taken everyday builds up and helps with the pain but not the lumps. Every time I get a sense of something different I go back to the gp and get them checked again.. The only thing worse than being in constant pain is being told there is nothing wrong with you! I hope that your lumps are nothing scary, ask for something to manage the pain, mine didn't offer for years until I demanded something basically.

    Good luck!

I have been suffering with severe pain and changing lumps in both breasts for years now, after scans my only diagnosis is dense breast tissue. Although this is good news, it's hard to see and feel lumps that hurt so much and be told there is nothing there.
