Dental abscess

Hi all, I cracked a tooth while I was 8 months pregnant and the doctor suggested I wait until after baby was born to get it treated (I was already leaking fluid) well I had baby and put it off for 2.5 months. My tooth started hurting so I went to he dentist who gave me amoxil and anti inflammatory, sent a referral to a specialist so I could get a root canal. It has now been 4 days and I have not heard from the specialist plus I have swelling in my jaw and now under my tongue along with a cold. I’m worried about the swelling and wondering if the antibiotics are even working. Terrified the swelling will reach my throat. Any recommendations or anything I can do to stop the swelling? Super nervous and it’s the weekend now
