Dental Work Numb chin and lip a week later

I suspect I suffered nerve damage during my scaling procedure. There was definatly a moment when she hit something that made me jump while injecting me. Was this the dentists error? When I called a week later regarding my symptons she was angry I did not call sooner.
I'm confused as to the cause and prognosis, I haven't found any clear answers. Thank you for your help.

I know this question is irrelevant, but why on earth were you being injected during a scaling procedure? I'd suggest you get yourself to a maxillofacial (oral) surgeon asap.

what are your symptoms?
My husband had a filling 2 1/2 years ago and we suspect nerve damage from the injection. He lost his taste which is replaced by a burning sensation when ever he eats as well as a sever case of Tinnitus. The protocol was to wait and see. When he finally got to a doctor would actually listen they said they wished he had gotten to them sooner as the waiting just causes more damage. He life is miserable now. Do not take no for an answer. Push them to do something. The Chorda Tympani was probably damaged from the injection. Our dentist said he was not aware of this being a possibility and feels horrible. The ADA is no help whatsoever and won't respond to his inquiries. Good Luck!!
