Depigmentation of genitals?!

Posted , 5 users are following.

I haven't been here for a bit because my LS has been held at bay for a while........and now I've noticed my vulva area is looking very darkly pigmented and I'm losing all the coloring below that area? Anyone else have this?  I'm making an appt.to return to my dermatologist.  I'm also getting a couple of sore areas back again after having a few months that have been symptom free.

I really hate this disease!

    Hi Kiki,

It is always wise to check out changes that cause concern but it could be something as simple as blood circulation in the vulva area due to inflammation. Narrowing or swollen blood vessels may be causing the darkened pigmentation.

This is also how my LS started - dark red/purple vulva with itching and pain.  The first time I used a mirror to check out what was itching, I just about passed out with shockat the colour of it!  Once the itching and pain were under control, the area turned white. Now it back to being pink.  But get it checked out

Thank you all for your comments.  I'm making an appt. with my dermatologist today and can hopefully get in within the next couple of weeks to see her.  Thank goodness she's a woman!!  This condition is unsightly and embarassing enough without having to show it to a male doctor😳.

Good thoughts and wishes to you all.
