Depo Medrone Injection

Hi all, I had both my hips replaced over a year ago, and the left was effected more than the right, but if you were inside me, the right hurt so much more, so I opted for the right to be operated on first.rolleyes

The left was operated on 9 weeks later and has been very different in healing than the right.sad

I took special care on both sides and did the bed exercises and the slow return to walking every day.

idea I found a backpack very efficacious for quickening the healing process for my trips to the supermarket, probably a round trip of a mile, and using the trolleys there as walkers.

Now I have just had a Depo Medrone Injection for the pain and growth of the muscles there in, but the injection is very painful, and effected me a little oddly, so I took the night off of work.cool

I should have listened to the surgeon and had the left done first, then the extra wear would not have happened in between operation, but I was in so much pain in my right, I was only thinking of a quicker return to work, as it was I only just made it before I was on Statutory Sick Pay, so in that regard, all went to plan and in time.  rolleyes

It has only been a week since the injection, and I am already walking quicker and with no pain, however if I sit or stop, then there is pain again on starting off again, but it soon fades away, so again a work in progress, as it goes on.  cool

However...exclaim  it is important to tell the Dentist as the steroid injection can have an effect on any pain killing injection that Dentists use for their treatments, just been for a check-up and clean today.  wink

I did shoot the Airshow this year, and here are a few to show off here.

Thanks for looking in on my posts again.

Thanks for all this info Ian - in my 'back pocket' against future need.

I'm sorry to hear that recovery hasnt been smooth but hopefully the injections will allow it to proceed better now.

I'm just heading into thr and hopeful. The first hip is doing'okay' but I think it is hard to recover as well with the other hip so unhappy.

Your photos are fabulous! I had to take a second look though at the one with acrobats on board - whooeee! Better them than I - you would not get me up and out there!

I hope your recovery accelerates now.

    Take care,

    Linda

I am happy to read that you are in less pain now and took the night off -

May I ask why you needed this injection? you mention Pain and growth of the muscles - was it inflamed ?

Hi Renee its the left side, and I cant get Sandy to go dancing since I learned, turns out that she just cant do it...after bragging that she could. The pain was just not going away, and slow to recover compared to the right side, so I hope the Injection will work.

Will post again in a couple of weeks, I have some time off from 19th sept and will be out with this EM1 and my other new toy a Second Hand Nikon D300S, just geting it refurbished right now and will be a bargain for what I paid for it.

      Take care...Ian.
